Quiet tiny house, 10 min to Cherokee casino

Whittier, NC, United States

2 guests
1 bedroom
1 bathroom

The back deck faces nothing but trees, and it's completely private. Morning coffee, evening drinks, stargazing. A tiny house in the Smoky Mountains, 10 minutes to Harrah's Cherokee Casino and 18 to the national park. The upper level combines the queen bed and full bathroom into one open space, designed for couples or solo travelers. Full kitchen with full-size appliances and a wooded setting quiet enough that birdsong wakes you up.

Good to know

From outside it looks like a tiny house. Inside, the pine walls and layout make it feel bigger than you'd expect. Full kitchen along one wall with a stove, oven, fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Living area with a couch and TV. The queen bed is in the loft above, reached by steep built-in stairs. The back deck is where most of the stay happens. Completely private, facing nothing but trees, with seating and a hammock. Hummingbirds in the warmer months, fireflies in the evenings, and dark enough at night for real stargazing. The home works well as a base for day trips, and coming back to something quiet at the end of the day is the best part. On a rainy evening, the sound of water on the roof is worth the trip by itself.

Other Details to Note

Loft Bed: The queen bed is elevated and reached by steep built-in stairs. The ceiling is low in the loft. All guests should be comfortable climbing up and down. Open Bathroom: The full bathroom (toilet, sink, shower) is in the same room as the bed with no separating wall or door. This is a common tiny house layout and works well for couples and solo travelers. If bathroom privacy is important to you, this layout may not be the right fit. Road and Driveway: The road to the property is paved but can cause issues for low-clearance vehicles. The driveway itself is mostly flat and gravel. Motorcycle riders have stayed without issue. Another Cabin on the Property: There is another vacation rental cabin on the property, visible from the front of the tiny house. You share the driveway and have private parking, deck, and yard. The back deck faces only woods and is completely private. Arriving After Dark: The property can be tricky to find at night. Follow the check-in directions and photos we send before your arrival rather than relying on GPS. Plan to arrive before dark if you can. Internet: Wifi is available. For remote work or anything that requires a reliable connection, bring a mobile hotspot as backup just in case. Designed for Two: This home is built for two guests. Not suitable for children or infants. No pets.

Very beautiful, peaceful, and quiet place. My friend and I spent 3 nights there, WiFi was good, place was clean and cozy, and not a bad drive to local attractions and restaurants. Overall amazing stay!

We had an amazing time at this tiny home! It was definitely designed for couples, with its open and cozy layout perfect for romantic getaways. The house was spotless, and everything was easy to find. However, we found the lack of privacy in the bathroom a bit awkward. We saw photos of the open bathroom, but it was hard to believe there was no door to the toilet! It was an amusing experience that my boyfriend and I will laugh about for years. Despite this minor inconvenience, the overall experience was wonderful. The shower pressure was surprisingly good, which we were pleasantly surprised by. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique and memorable getaway.

My husband and I came to town for the Cherokee Rod Run and this was the perfect little woodland oasis to stay in. Quiet and peaceful and 10 minutes away from everything we needed.

Absolutely beautiful. It is tucked away in the quiet woods away from the hustle and bustle of tourist areas, but it’s still just a short drive to all of them! The central location makes it an ideal “base camp” for all of your mountain adventures. The cabin itself is so clean and well-stocked. The host seems to have put a lot of thought into making sure her guests have a comfortable stay. It was actually cold and snowing when we visited, but the cabin was so toasty warm. Our host was attentive to making sure we had a great experience from start to finish and that extended to the day we left. There was no long checklist we had to follow before checkout which was very refreshing. It was so special to stay in this unique repurposed caboose. We are grateful to our host for being so welcoming and responsive. We are already planning our next stay for the summer! This place is an incredible hidden gem in the Great Smoky Mountains! Highly recommend!!!
